Breaking News: Palomar Pipeline CANCELED!!!

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011

Congratulations! Today the Palomar Pipeline withdrew its application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, siting a lack of need for additional natural gas infrastructure in Oregon. This is a huge victory and has come as a result of the grassroots organizing and activism tenaciously opposing this proposal for the past 4 years. As more information is gathered and news stories are published we will keep you posted with updates. In the meantime, we hope you will celebrate an incredible victory that was hard won and well deserved. Three cheers to protecting Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon communities and our clean energy future!!!

Action Alert: Tell your Oregon Senator NO LNG Fast Track Bill!

Monday, March 21st, 2011

For the third year in a row, NW Natural and it’s LNG company cohorts are pushing a bill through the Oregon State Legislature that would allow pipeline companies to obtain permits on private land without the landowner’s permission. We’ve stopped this bill in the past and we need to do it again to ensure that NW Natural doesn’t get a leg up from the Oregon Legislature at the expense of our forests, farms and fisheries. If the LNG Fast Track Bill passes, the Palomar Pipeline and the two remaining LNG terminals proposed in Oregon would be years ahead of their current delayed schedules. Contact your Oregon State Senator today to urge a NO vote on the LNG Fast Track Bill!
